Arbitrareum (5): Central Hill Top
by Francesco Grisanzio
Schrodinger quietly reads a book
And watches a cat, alive and well, hunt among the shrubs.
He always sits on that bench, here, all day,
Because Apollo doesn’t plug his ears while speaking.
As Phoebus, he charges in from the East and bellows out,
“Could act is enacted! Now, so forever!
I am the Kinetic God, devourer of Potential!”
Trees are scorched.
Forests leveled.
Everyone may be struck blind and deaf,
For he has witnessed himself.
The caves of Delphi become desperately crowded
With the smoke of goats.
Lepers are left to rot.
Thousands wail as their sea of tears boils.
Even more hanged on the strings of lyres.
Finally, a wise man writes that this all stops.
Schrodinger thumbs that book.
The cat explores the trails.
All paths are walked.
All poems read.
