Some commonly asked questions about the magazine. We’re always updating, so if you see something that’s not covered here or in our submission guidelines, feel free to contact us.
Is there an entrance fee?
No. Interrobang is entirely entrance fee-free!
Is there prize money?
No. Right now, Interrobang does not have sufficient funds to cover the print editions, web services, and prizes for our writers and artists. We’re working on this, and hope to have some form of compensation in the future. Accepted submitters will receive a complimentary copy of the print edition (even if your work appears online only).
Will I retain the rights to my work?
Yes! We retain the right to publish your work online and in our zine, and for archiving purposes, but we in no way own your material. Feel free to bring it to other publishers once you’ve submitted or published with Interrobang. We see this is a service for the community, not a profiteering scheme. (Though, ha, we would like to break even! Dream a silly dream.)
Do you accept record reviews?
This is a tricky question. We accept non-fiction essays of all stripes, and that could theoretically include your album review. What we’re looking for is flair: thoughtful, in-depth work with verve. A record review could certainly fulfill those criteria, but your average Pitchfork-styled blurb will probably not make the cut.
